Terms and conditions
This website allows users to shop for new and vintage items such as clothing, shoes, accessories, intimates etc. online. All users and buyers on this site are bound by the terms and conditions.
When purchasing an item, you (the buyer) enters into a purchasing contract with Vintage Lover. The purchasing contract will be complete once the buyer has placed an order and Vintage Lover has received and accepted payment.
Items can not be reserved.
The availability of an item should be indicated on the website and Vintage Lover will make every attempt to remove items that are sold out. If an order is placed for an item that is sold out, Vintage Lover will refund the amount of said item.
Vintage Lover reserves the right to refuse orders that it suspects are fraudulent, such as purchases with a stolen credit card. Documentation may be requested to complete necessary fraud checks and an order may be cancelled if said documentation is not received. In the event of a fraudulent order being placed on Vintage Lover, buyers are advised to initiate a charge back via their bank in order to be refunded.
When placing an order by credit card, transaction details are presented to the bank for authorisation. If you are authorised to use the credit card and there is sufficient funds to cover the order, payment is usually immediate.
When placing an order by EFT, please be sure to use your order number. The order will be processed once the amount is placed over by your bank which can take up to 3 days.
Products will be shipped as per the stated shipping times, which will take 1-2 days to process, it will then be shipped. As soon as it’s shipped the tracking information will be sent.
Vintage Lover delivers / mails anywhere within South Africa, either door to door or to post office counter depending on the delivery address. Door to door deliveries are sent to a street address in major city centres only. Items will only be sent by post to rural areas when door to door is not available.
All major city centres items are delivered via courier or postage, rural towns are postage only.
PO Box deliveries are done, you will get a slip in the mail and will need to collect from the post office counter.
The post office will notify you when the parcel is available at the post office for collection. You are also able to track your parcel online and can collect using the tracking number and a valid South African ID or drivers license.
Couriered parcels should be tracked online by the customer to check when delivery will take place. Please insure that a valid street address is provided, where someone is always available for receiving of goods, as well as working cell or home numbers.
Please note that actual shipping times may vary slightly and are an estimation only.
Once a parcel has left Vintage Lover’s possession, we are no longer responsible. Should your parcel be late, or stuck in transit during strikes, or stolen, it is not our responsibility. Parcels are all insured, and the value of the lost parcel will need to be claimed from the courier company or post office. Vintage Lover is not liable for any lost or damaged goods.
Vintage Lover will try it’s best to display all item and delivery costs accurately. In the event that an incorrect item or delivery price is displayed, Vintage Lover will not be obliged to supply item(s) at the incorrect price. Vintage Lover will however return payment made on an incorrectly priced item if the buyer chooses to cancel the order.
If payment fails due to incorrect information, insufficient funds, or another similar problem, the purchase will not be successful.
Vintage Lover reserves the right to take the website offline for maintenance or in emergency cases. While all attempts will be made to avoid it, Vintage Lover cannot be held responsible for data loss, checkout or payment problems.
Unfortunately there is no cancellation once the order has been placed and paid for.
Refunds take 1- 5 working days to process. EFT and credit card refunds will take 2-3 working days to reflect in your account due to the reflection delay between banks.
Returns and Exchanges
Vintage Lover reserves the right to refuse a return or exchange.
You will either receive a refund, or have the product repaired or replaced, depending on the situation.
It is your responsibility to check the sizing guide to ensure that the item will fit you. Vintage items are mostly second hand and are washed, cleaned and checked for quality. If there is a problem with an item, please inform Vintage Lover within 24 hours of receipt and send the item back within 48 hours.
Exchange-only products may only be replaced with a similar product. If we are unable to provide you with the desired size or style we will process a refund to you.
Products eligible for return or exchange may be refunded via EFT.
Please note that shipping fees are not refundable.
Please note all transaction fees are deducted from the refund
You may not under any circumstances return the following:
Non-defective products that have been “made to order”. (You will be notified in the relevant online sale if the products are “made to order”.)
Products that you or any other person has altered, repaired, incorporated or added to where such alteration, repair, incorporation or addition has not been authorised by Vintage Lover.
- Please Note: Most the shoes that are currently in stock are vintage, in other words second hand shoes.
- This means the shoes have been worn.
- All the shoes have been checked and repaired if necessary.
- Upon purchasing your shoes you will receive a 2 week guarantee, this is from date of purchase.
- Should anything happen to your shoes within the 2 week guarantee (for example they break or tear) you can return them. I will have them repaired and returned to you. Vintage Lover will cover the postage for this process.
- If you purchased your shoes via post and once they arrive you aren’t entirely happy with them, the exchange policy applies (see above). In this case please make sure you contact Vintage Lover immediately, email@example.com
- Please check the sizing guide and measurements to ensure that you are aware of the size of the shoe before purchasing
Please note that in the description items have clearly been described as vintage or new.
Vintage items are mostly second hand items, all these items have been washed, cleaned and checked and is ready to wear.
It is your responsibility as the customer to ensure you have checked the sizing guide to make sure the item will fit and that you understand you are either purchasing a new or a second hand garment.
Therefor if you need to return a garment please contact us within 24hours of receiving the garment so arrangements can be made for either an exchange or a refund.
All vintage clothing is not returnable, refundable or exchangeable.
Please note we stock new and vintage handbags.

Please note all sunglasses are brand new UV400 sunglasses.
They are of excellent quality, but need to be handled with care.
We do not offer any returns on the sunglasses, descriptions are accurate, so please make sure you are aware of the colours of the sunglasses before purchasing.
Swimsuit and Underwear Policy
Vintage Lover does not accept returns or process exchanges for swimsuits, underwear and intimates.
Jewellery Return Policy
Faulty or broken jewellery may be returned for either an exchange or a refund.
Please note that chain measurements are done accurately according to the customer’s length, therefor once it has been made up according to specifications it can not be returned.
Vintage Lover retains copyright and all other rights to listings, services, images, videos and all other information on this site. Unauthorised modification, duplication, publication, exploitation or disclosure to third parties is strictly prohibited.
Changes in General Conditions
Vintage Lover reserves the right to revise these terms from time to time. If you disagree with the general terms we do not recommend use of our service. You will be required to accept the T’s & C’s every time you transact on our website.
We reserve the right to ban any individual uploader or website domain from using our services for any reason.
Anyone downloading or trying to download malware or damaging coding on this site, or who tries to gain unauthorised access to any page on this site, will be prosecuted.
Vintage Lover will claim civil damages from such person if Vintage Lover suffers any damage or loss.
You agree and guarantee that the username and password you use to log in is for your personal use only, and will not be passed on to any third party.
You allow Vintage Lover to take all steps reasonably possible to ensure the integrity and security of the site and in the administrative office.
All credit card transactions on the site are protected by SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption and reinforced by various encryption processes with the aim of offering the most effective possible protection of any sensitive information. Vintage Lover has no access to any confidential information regarding your payment method.
Only Vintage Lover’s banking partner will access confidential information (such as your credit card number, expiry date, CVV etc.) from time to time.
Vintage Lover is responsible for adhering to the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) with the sale of any products from the site. Similarly, Vintage Lover is responsible for adhering to articles 43(5) and 43(6) of the Electronic Communication and Transactions Act in terms of payment systems and security.
However, neither Vintage Lover nor any of its representatives will be held responsible for any loss or accountability of any kind that arises from the use of (or inability to use) this site, its services or content.

Please note in order for your returns to be valid, we need to be notified within 24hours of receipt. This is 24hours within signing for your parcel with the couriers or via the post office. This will be followed up online to confirm at what time and date it was signed for. Anything outside this and your return is not valid. If you will not be receiving the parcel yourself you will need to notify us in advance, so we can be aware of the situation.
We do not accept returns on the following: swimwear, any vintage items, intimates, sunglasses, hats, or footwear once it has been worn.
Only exceptions will be made if said item was damaged from couriers, or a vintage item that we may have missed a flaw. In the case of damages with the couriers we will need to investigate this.
Returns can ONLY be done via the post office. You will need to mail your parcel back in the same condition as it was sent to you, using INSURED postage. This is to insure that the parcel arrives safely with us. Incase anything happens we can then claim it back from the post office. We will supply you with the address where the parcel needs to be mailed back to. This is your only option for a return. There is no drop off or collection point. You will have 48hours to send us the parcel, and we will need a tracking number at the end of the 48hours. In order for us to refund you we will need to wait for it to reach us this can take anything from 5-21 working days. Depending on how busy the post office is. As soon as we have it we will contact you to get the refund sorted out.
The return costs are on the customers expense. We carry the expense to send you a new item. Courier / Postage fees are not refundable.
If you purchased an incorrect size or colour, this return and exchange courier fee is at the customers expense.

You have adhered to these terms and conditions upon purchasing via the website.
Choose a product, and size and quantity “add to cart” a Green message will appear “VIEW CART → Product successfully added to your cart. Please checkout within the time indicated (just under an hour) or this item will be removed from your cart. You can then continue shopping or proceed to check out. Please note that items will only stay in the cart for 1 hour, after that it will be back up for sale.
In “checkout” there two address sections
Billing Address – this is your postal address
Shipping Address – this is your physical address where the courier needs to deliver the parcel, please make sure you type in an address where there is someone from 8am-5pm on Mondays-Fridays.
Lastly choose your payment method, Payfast – Instant Eft, Credit or Debit Card or SnapScan (please just note you will have to register an account with Payfast, but it’s a very secure site, used by all the major online stores)

Yes, usually your bank gives you the option of entering the recipients email address when you load up the beneficiaries banking details. If your bank doesn’t give you this option you are welcome to email your proof of payment directly to email@example.com and state your name and surname as a reference.
Vintage garments are usually second hand garments, dating back a few years and even much older. Sometimes we are lucky enough to find vintage garments that have not been worn, in this case we will clearly state this in the description. All our vintage garments have been washed, cleaned, checked for any damages like mismatched buttons and broken zips, etc and are ready to wear.
Some of our garments have been locally manufactured, in that case it’s clearly indicated in the description. Certain garments have been sourced overseas from various countries, in that case it’s clearly indicated in the description. Basically you are getting the cream of the clothing crop! Nothing but the best for Vintage Lovers.
Postage means an item is sent via the post office, you will receive a slip with your tracking number on and it will then have to be collected from your local post office, please insure that you take an ID or drivers license with you. Courier delivers straight to your door. But please note our courier service only delivers in major cities, not rural areas. If you do want an item couriered to a rural area it will have extra costs. All items are listed with a sizing chart, to confirm the size and measurements of the garment simply refer to the chart and the description, and compare it to your measurements.
Of course we do! All our items are wrapped beautifully, to make each and everyone feel special. Parcels can be sent directly to the recipient. If you have any special requests please get in contact with us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
